ShareGift’s partnership with Wesfarmers has focused on core funding for The Smith Family’s Learning for Life, a program focused on educational outcomes for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Wesfarmers Limited has proudly collaborated with ShareGift Australia for over six years to provide community return from share capital, while also providing shared value for investors.

ShareGift is an independent charity that provides shareholders with an easy and cost-effective way to donate parcels of shares to the benefit of the community. ShareGift’s unique impact arises from combining thousands of individual share-related activities together, eg. the sale of a parcel of shares or dividend reinvestment plan residuals. There is no brokerage or fees for donating shares to ShareGift, and the full market value is 100 per cent tax deductible for shareholders.

To date, ShareGift Australia has distributed more than $1.63 million to 470 Australian charities.

During the past 12 months, ShareGift’s partnership with Wesfarmers has focused on core funding for The Smith Family’s Learning for Life, a program focused on educational outcomes for students from disadvantaged backgrounds, ranging from preschool to tertiary levels. Learning for Life includes financial support for essential items (e.g. school uniforms, excursions and stationery), out-of-school learning and mentoring. The program is proven to increase a young person’s likelihood of remaining engaged with school, completing Year 12 and going on to further study or work.

ShareGift is the only service of its kind in Australia, and is endorsed by The ASX Group (ASX) and the Australian Shareholders’ Association (ASA).
